PAN 2020 is now live!

PAN at CLEF 2010

This is the 4th evaluation lab on uncovering plagiarism, authorship, and social software misuse. PAN will be held as part of the CLEF conference in Padua, Italy, on September 20-23, 2010. Evaluations will commence from January till June. We invite you to take part in any of the two tasks shown below.

Wikipedia Vandalism Detection

Given a Wikipedia edit, is it well-intentioned?

This task is concerned with preventing "any addition, removal, or change of content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia," which defines vandalism on Wikipedia. Given a set of edits on Wikipedia articles, the task is to separate the ill-intentioned edits from the well-intentioned edits.

Plagiarism Detection

Given a document, is it an original?

This task is divided into external detection and intrinsic detection. External detection is about searching for sources of a suspicious document. Intrinsic detection is about identifying plagiarized passages via breaches of writing style.
